Abstract
This is a handbook on how to finance and organize a mission today. The book considers in detail the changing nature of world mission, the key role of the local Church, and the parts played by ministers, congregations and friends. It looks at the pitfalls of missionary development, and suggests how missionaries can be supported, or can support themselves. The advice includes accounts of characters who people mission history, from Mildred Cable, who travelled by ox carts across the Gobi Desert, to Joh Athelstan Cheese, who once tried to travel by ship as a piece of luggage. Few people can actually go out as missionaries or evangelists, but all can participate.
